What Our guests Say

Maaike.
Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic place to stay this was! Idyllic, romantic, private, outdoors, but with all the comforts. You'll get a description of how to get there in advance.  The  path we had to follow (a 3 min) made the arrival even more special. We slept wonderfully on the comfortable bed with heated blankets, showered under the warm outdoor shower and enjoyed under the stars. An experience to remember, where Kim was easily accessible and helped us where needed..
Michelle.

Cheeky keas love the flax in the flax pod

Cruising the neighbourhood are a few awesome and rascally kea.  They land on the Flax Pod cabin from time to time mainly to drink from the flax flowers but also to check out the new guests.  This photos shows them on the shade sail of the Flax Pod. You will hear and see them most nights. Full of curiosity they will also try and get into anything lying around.  We love these cool native parrots with their colourful wings and noisy teenager like nature, but please don't feed them.  Definitely take photos but if they start to destroy the cabin or your car gently move them on.  A sprinkling of water from the hose usually works.
